I kickstarted my first documentary: I’m Fine, Thanks
I have become slightly addicted to Kickstarter… not as much as some people… but more than many. I recently backed a documentary called “I’m Fine, Thanks”. It is generally about a guy who isn’t happy with his life… by all means he should be because he lives in America, in the suburbs with a house and job and a great family. But he feels incomplete. So he kickstarts a documentary to fulfill his dream of making a movie about others who also feel unfulfilled. The documentary was completed a few months back and the DVD was mailed out today.
What made me laugh is that in the email notifying me that the DVD has shipped, they created a hilarious custom photo for me:

Thanks for the laugh guys. And for the fun documentary.
If you haven’t checked out Kickstarter, I highly recommend it. It is a weird form of crowdsourced participatory consumption… it is a funding model for the true long tail. It is proof that we are all in fact Weird. I love it.
